About TechOfEra

TechOfEra started in 2017 as a simple idea: buying tech shouldn't require a engineering degree. Since then we've published buying guides covering gaming monitors, gaming PCs, studio headphones, storage and more — each one built around the same question a friend would ask: "which one should I actually buy?"

How we pick products

Every guide starts with the current market — what's actually for sale right now, not what was good three years ago. We compare specifications, read owner feedback and professional reviews, and weigh strengths against real weaknesses. You'll find a pros-and-cons box on every recommendation, because no product is perfect and we'd rather tell you the trade-offs up front.

We don't claim hands-on testing we haven't done. When we describe a product, it's based on published specifications, documented features, and aggregated owner feedback — and we say so. Our full methodology, including how we handle affiliate relationships and corrections, is on our How We Test page.

What we cover

Our guides cluster around the tech gamers and PC enthusiasts actually buy: gaming monitors (from budget high-refresh to 4K OLED flagships), keyboards and mice, audio gear, VPNs and security software, and the troubleshooting guides that solve real problems like high ping and packet loss. Every cluster is organized on our Best Picks hub so you can browse by what you're shopping for.

Editorial independence

Our recommendations can't be bought. Brands don't pay for placement, and affiliate commissions are identical regardless of which product you choose — so there's never a financial reason to rank one pick over another. When a guide is refreshed and a better product takes the top spot, the ranking changes, full stop.

How the site stays free

TechOfEra is reader-supported. When you click a "Check Price on Amazon" button and buy something, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. That revenue funds the research and keeps every guide free to read. It doesn't change what we recommend: commissions are the same regardless of which product you pick, so there's no incentive to push one over another. Read the full affiliate disclosure for details.

Corrections

Tech moves fast and we update guides regularly, but mistakes happen. If you spot an error — a wrong spec, a discontinued model, a broken link — tell us and we'll fix it.
